Two-Time Defending Oregon 6A Champ Upset In First Round

For the first time in two years there will be a new 6A champ in Oregon. Two-time defending champ Jesuit was upset Friday night in the opening round of the Oregon high school football championships.
Canby beat the Crusaders 47-35, which marked the first time since 1987 that Jesuit lost a first round playoff game.

Meanwhile, Jesuit wasn't the only 6A favorite to take it on the chin. Six times a team with a lower rank beat a favorite in the twelve first round games. Click here to read about a Friday night of upsets.

#3 Jesuit Takes Down #2 Westview
For those thinking that two-time defending state champ Jesuit won't get a chance at a three-peat, you may want to think again. Friday night Jesuit, ranked #3 in last week's AP 6A High School Football Poll, took down #2 Westview 27-13.
Jesuit (7-1) was led by junior quarterback Scott Williams whose first three passes went for touchdowns. Williams ended the night 6-of-9 for 132 yards.
If Jesuit beats Southridge next week, the Crusaders can win the Metro League. For a complete story from OregonLive.com, click here.
